The YMAP Entity Sorter is a straightforward yet effective tool designed to streamline your CodeWalker map files. It intelligently analyzes your map data and automatically reorders all entities, organizing them alphabetically based on their archetypeName.

Why should you use this tool? During the creation of intricate maps, entities are frequently dispersed in a seemingly random order within the file. This disorganized structure can lead to substantial problems when generating _manifest.ymf files. Certain generators may fail to register props accurately if they are not systematically grouped by type.

By sorting your XML files with this tool, you establish a more organized structure, mitigating the risk of missing props in your generated manifests.

Installation

1. Open your .ymap file in CodeWalker.
2. Navigate to File > Export XML.
3. Open the YMAP Entity Sorter tool and select your exported XML file.
4. The sorted file will be saved in a new export folder named "export" located in the same directory as the .exe file.
5. Import the new XML file back into CodeWalker or your server.

Compatibility

This tool currently supports only .ymap files exported to XML format.
