Why real-world cars are risky
- Trademarks: badges, manufacturer names and model names can identify a protected brand.
- Copyright and design rights: meshes, textures and other files may be copied from a commercial game or model library.
- Redistribution: a creator may lack the right to sell or share the source asset.

Audit every vehicle pack
- Record the creator, source URL, license and purchase receipt.
- Ask whether the mesh and textures are original or licensed for redistribution.
- Search the files and UI for manufacturer badges, model names and copied marketing artwork.
- Check whether the pack’s license permits public and commercial server use.
- Remove the resource when provenance is missing; do not rely on “everyone uses it.”
Safer alternatives
Prefer original fictional vehicles with original names, logos and textures. A superficial badge swap does not necessarily solve the problem when the underlying design or copied files remain. Keep a provenance register for every vehicle and a documented removal path.
