Choose a format, not just a platform
- Character diary: one character, recurring goal and episode-to-episode continuity.
- Case or incident: a self-contained police, EMS, business or court story with a clear outcome.
- How-to: explain RP etiquette, character creation or a server mechanic without exposing private systems.
- Live ensemble: improv with other players, then edit the strongest scenes into shorter videos.
Start on the platform that fits the format. Live-first creators need reliable sessions and moderation. Edited-story creators need searchable packaging and retention. Short-form is useful for discovery, but it should point to a repeatable series rather than unrelated moments.
Server permission and player privacy
Read the server rules before recording. Some servers require a streamer role, hide private channels, restrict unreleased content or forbid using another player’s voice outside the session.
