Simple Zombies - Crash Fix

This is a runtime patcher designed to fix common crash issues with sollaholla's Simple Zombies [.NET] mod. The original mod, last updated in January 2017, includes a bug that can cause an unhandled exception during crafting within the inventory menu. This exception effectively disables the inventory script for the remainder of the game session, preventing the inventory menu from opening until the player reloads their save.

This crash fix does NOT replace the original Simple Zombies mod. Instead, it runs in conjunction with the original ZombiesMod.dll and uses Harmony to patch the problematic code paths dynamically when the script loads.

Features

• Inventory.AddItem Null-Guard: Prevents crashes caused by null items during inventory operations.
• Inventory.ProcessKeys Exception Swallow: Resolves exceptions in the crafting key handler that can occur after a craft is completed.
• PlayerInventory.OnTick Session Saver: Catches any uncaught exceptions in the tick handler, preventing the entire script from aborting and displaying an orange ticker notification.

Installation

1. Ensure the original Simple Zombies [.NET] mod by sollaholla is installed correctly. Verify that the inventory menu opens by pressing 'I'.
2. Place both ZombiesMod_CrashFix.dll AND 0Harmony.dll into your /scripts folder.
3. Launch the game. A green ticker message, “Simple Zombies Crash Fix v1.1 loaded,” will confirm that the patches are active.
