Engine Water Temperature System

Experience a new level of realism in GTA 5 with the Engine Water Temperature System mod! This script simulates realistic engine water temperature behavior for cars and motorcycles, adding a layer of depth to your driving experience.

When you start your vehicle, the script automatically kicks in. Watch as the water temperature gradually rises, quickly at first, then slowing as it reaches the optimal range of 90-100 degrees. The temperature will continue to climb up to 150 degrees. Turn off the engine, and the water temperature will slowly decrease, with the cooling rate dependent on the current temperature.

The mod also incorporates additional factors that affect water temperature: Higher engine RPMs cause a faster temperature increase, while the vehicle's speed and wind resistance influence the cooling rate. Be careful when revving in neutral – pushing the engine too hard will cause overheating and engine failure!

The intuitive HUD displays the water temperature in real-time (position and size customizable via the INI file). Overheating becomes a real concern – at 116 degrees, the engine will start to smoke, with the intensity increasing as you approach 150 degrees. Reaching 150 degrees will result in permanent engine shutdown until you restart the game.

The script efficiently tracks up to 3 vehicles, automatically discarding the oldest tracked vehicle if the limit is exceeded. Please note the known bug regarding duplicate license plates as detailed below.

Installation

1. Place WaterTemp.dll and watertemp.ini into the /scripts/ folder in your GTA 5 directory.
2. Ensure your game directory structure looks like this: GTAV/scripts/WaterTemp.dll and GTAV/scripts/watertemp.ini.

Compatibility

This script is currently being tested in the LEGACY version of GTA 5.

Note

Known Bug: If two or more vehicles in the game have the same license plate, the water temperature of the second vehicle will not function correctly. The script tracks vehicles based on their license plates. To avoid this, ensure that all your vehicles have unique license plate numbers.

You can reload the INI data in-game by pressing F5 and entering retemp.
